Jackson Jaguars Cross Country 2017!!

Welcome to Jackson Middle School Cross Country 2017! We are excited for you to be part of the Jackson Cross Country team! Both of Jackson’s Cross Country coaches are new to the program this year and are eager to meet the runners and coach them through an exciting season.
Mikayla Goscha is a teacher at Jackson and has coached track at Jackson as well as Nordic skiing at Champlin Park High School. Mikayla ran track at the collegiate level and has been a nordic skier her whole life. Athletics has played such an important role in Mikayla’s life and has taught her many valuable life skills such as the value of hard work, perseverance, commitment, and community with others. Mikayla loves introducing kids to sports, helping them become life-long athletes, and hopefully sharing some of those same values that have impacted her. Mikayla is looking forward to meeting each of the Jackson athletes!
Michael Harralson helped coach the Oxbow Creek Run Club in 2017, where he still plans to spend some time as he has a daughter and son still running at Oxbow. Running has had a tremendous impact on Michael’s life and he is excited to motivate others to find the joy of running. Michael is an avid runner who runs multiple races every year and volunteers as a run mentor for Mile in My Shoes in Minneapolis. He believes that running is the cornerstone to a healthy lifestyle and he loves setting an example by running with his own children and the kids at Oxbow and Jackson.
The coaches will be in touch in the coming weeks about details for the season.
You can reach Mikayla via email at mikayla.goscha@ahschools.us and Michael can be reached at mpharralson@gmail.com

2017 Rebels Summer XC Training

Coach Crandall has resigned as Jackson Middle School Cross Country coach due to his running injuries.

Summer Running!  Please read on and contact the high school coach, Coach Kevin Moorhead, with your questions and concerns about the Summer Running Program.

Rebels Cross Country Summer Running Program
Weekly Training Runs: Monday - Friday @ 8:00am
June 12 - August 13th
The Summer Running Program is a pre-season training program for the Rebels Cross Country team, which is made up of incoming 6th - 12th graders. We invite all that may be interested in running XC this fall with either the high school program or our middle school program to join us this summer. For more info contact Coach Moorhead at kmoorhead@comcast.net
Keep a daily "Running Log" for the Summer, recording how far, how it felt and what trail you ran. At the conclusion of the summer the coaching staff will award "Summer Mileage" t-shirts to those who put in the miles!
We encourage all to attend at least 3 running sessions a week at a minimum.    Attending at least 3 sessions allows for your own personal flexibility with summer activities.  The greater the attendance during the summer, the greater chances you will have a break-thru season this Fall !
  • Summer Mileage T-Shirts will be awarded at the end of the summer training season.  Those who have reached 200, 300, 400+ will receive the 2017 Summer Mileage "T"!
  • Washington Lake Training Camp will take place TBA.
  • July 4th Week:  Captains Practice   July 3-7th
  • Captains Practice Date(s):  Aug. 1-12th
